Organizational Work
My organization and I have been working with Crafted Leadership for over a year now. Their work continues to expand throughout the organization as more and more leaders are seeking their guidance and expertise. We are beginning to create a common language that is breaking down silos, creating stronger partnerships and expanding our team’s ability to give effective and constructive feedback in a healthy manner.
What I loved about what you do is offer tools for interacting with one another. Personality drives leadership; however, tools and rules for engagement and having responsibility for how we engage is separate from personality. That’s what you teach – the rules of engagement, the tools and the responsibility for how we engage.
Before working with Crafted Leadership, we had managers who cared and worked very hard to manage their staff but were lacking some of the tools they needed to manage staff and to lead on behalf of our community. We chose Crafted Leadership after working with several different organizations. Crafted Leadership personalized the training for us. They embed themselves in the organization and make themselves available. Having a common framework helps emerging leaders talk to experienced leaders as they are mentored and developed, and rank-and-file employees are beginning to pick up the language as well. It’s impacting our culture in ways that have us talking more openly and honestly with each other, creating more understanding, asking for clarity.
Working with Crafted Leadership has been a game-changer for our team. The strategies, leadership development, and communication sessions they designed were not just effective but also deeply engaging and inspiring for every team member. I brought Crafted Leadership in to help grow me as a Chief of Staff, but also to grow the organization as a team of people doing hard things together. I’ve gotten a lot of tools in my toolbox that help me to both create opportunities for people to learn and grow, and to manage the moments where we might be struggling together.
I wanted support from a team coach so we could form bonds and perform as a high-performing team as quickly as possible. Our relationship with Crafted Leadership and especially Julianna has changed our company’s culture dramatically for the better. As an HR Leader at a quickly scaling startup, I was struggling on how to coach my first time management team on how to be thoughtful yet direct with feedback, and make agreements within the team. There was almost an air of toxicity around our company, and with Crafted Leadership we were able to turn it around. We were able to identify when we were on the “drama triangle” and ways to step off of it to become a more solution-focused, feedback-based company. I still use my training worksheets today! After we did this course with our leaders, we opened it up to different departments, and it was almost magical to see the shift in communication across the company. Your principles are very simple yet complex at the same time. I believe everyone can use them. I believe a young individual in their first job could approach someone who has been here 15 years and use your conflict resolution tool and not feel intimidated by that, and vice-versa. Our teams now have a tool to walk through conflict that isn’t adversarial, even though it confronts the issue head-on.
Working with Crafted Leadership, on a personal level I have learned, and put into practice, many competencies including recognizing when I am operating above or below “the line,” taking 100% responsibility and speaking unarguably. On an organizational level, using these concepts provides a common language and framework for deepening our teamwork and collaboration, while improving our overall engagement as a team of leaders who are leading our organization to success during a time of accelerated change.
I continue to this day to share the principles learned from Crafted Leadership with our supervisor team as we build a bench of leaders. The feedback section is the one I most often refer to as it is such an important concept in both our professional and personal lives.

Participating in Lead by Design was the best time I have spent focusing on my leadership skills.
The hands-on learning, the group dynamics and the working with scenarios was very appealing to our company. And Lead by Design resonated with me on an intellectual level in what we were looking for from a leadership perspective.
The Lead by Design course changed my life. I use the Conflict Resolution, clear agreements, and 100% responsibility tools every single day. It’s a paradigm shifter. It’s what we all need, now more than ever. This course is for leaders who are building the new world – right on time.

Crafted Leadership changed how I saw leadership – the Drama Triangle and Healthy Responsibility have been game-changers. More delegation, more trust, and more value have been added. Lead by Design was a fantastic hands-on experience where I was not only able to listen to varying perspectives and learn new tools, but also had the time to very intentionally practice those tools in scenarios during the work sessions.
The team at Crafted Leadership teaches leaders how to hold their teams accountable and set clear expectations in a way that is kind and human. Their frameworks teach people how to set boundaries in the workplace, create clarity and hold people accountable – skills that many leaders struggle with. Lead by Design was an excellent opportunity to take a step away from my daily work, and examine the way I show up and lead professionally and personally. It encouraged self-examination, which has led to me being more conscious about the way I engage with others and my work. The skills I worked to develop during the course will be skills I will work to define throughout the rest of my career!
Engaging in Crafted Leadership’s curriculum has given me emotional tool sets that have elevated my professional and personal relationships. By asking participants to engage with examples of behavior from their own lives and reframing with Crafted Leadership’s lens, the experience is challenging and eye-opening in an organic, authentic way. It is such a wonderful experience and I’ve learned so much.
I still use the skills I learned from avoiding the drama triangle and conflict resolution to this very day and you’ll never know how much this helped me grow professionally and reduce unnecessary work stress!
